I couldn’t wait for this adorable little 8-day-old sweetie to arrive at my Park City studio! Her mommy is one of my very best friends and a fellow photographer. We talked about and planned this photo shoot forever. I have been thinking of ideas for the last nine months. We had such a great time with her. She slept like a little angel and let us do pose after pose after pose. I took so many images I’m not sure how I am ever going to get through them all! I know her mommy and daddy are anxious to see these, so I wanted to get a few put up as soon as possible. Congratulations on your new little bundle of joy. Everything about her is just perfect!

When I first started to get serious about photography, I used to enter the I ♥ Faces contests every week. It was so inspirational to look at the other entries and to see the fantastic images that won each week. It was also a really valuable learning tool. They posted so many great tutorials that I learned from. If you are a budding photographer (or even a seasoned pro) you should check them out.
I haven’t entered a contest in such a long time. But this week I saw that they were having a contest featuring pet photos. Our family got a new puppy a few weeks ago. I have been snapping tons of photos of him. But, since I am a newborn photographer, I just couldn’t help but to bring my “newborn” into my studio and get some studio shots. This one was my favorite. Enjoy!

Be sure to check out I ♥ Faces to see all the amazing photos that were entered in this week’s contest.

I was so thrilled to be able to attend the Baby as Art Workshop with Carrie Sandoval and Brittany Woodall at the beginning of April. They are some of the most talented newborn photographers in the United States and I was honored to be able to learn from them.
They capture many beautiful newborn images. But they are also extremely talented at capturing mothers and fathers with their tiny new miracles. One of the main reasons I attended this workshop was to learn their techniques so that I can start photographing more parents with their babies.
I just love how this image turned out. I can almost feel the love she has for her baby while looking at this image. I can’t wait to start practicing these techniques with my clients. I think there is nothing more precious than a stunning image of mother and baby.
I have many more images to post from the workshop, so stay tuned!

Last week I had the pleasure of photographing this adorable little 9 day old boy. I showed a sneak peek of a few of his newborn portraits last week.
I just love photographing newborns, and this little sweetie was no exception. One of the things that I love is getting to be a witness to the immense love that new parents feel for their new little bundles. This little guy was so loved! Both his parents and his grandmother just sat there watching. They were completely head over heels in love with him. His mom kept looking at him saying “I can’t believe that is my baby”. It was clear that they had waited a while for him and that he was VERY wanted. It is so special to get to be a part of that love for a few short hours.
I really enjoyed meeting all of you. Congratulations on your new son!

I introduced this sweet newborn baby boy a few days ago. He was a pleasure to shoot. Even his big brother got in on the action for a few shots. It was a pleasure to meet all of you. Congratulations on your new little man.

This sweet little 9 day old drove an hour and a half to have his picture taken. I was so honored that his parents chose me and came all that way. It was a pleasure meeting the whole family and photographing this sweet little bundle. Enjoy your sneak peek and thank you for allowing me to capture your little treasure.

I had so much fun photographing this little guy! His mom, Paige Davis, is a photographer friend of mine and we planned this shoot for a long time. It was great. I got to hang out with some of my favorite photographers and do so many set ups that I had been wanting to try.
Crew was such an adorable baby. Just look at his gorgeous hair and lips. He was a big baby and I loved all his chubbiness, too.
He was a joy to capture!

I had the pleasure of photographing this adorable 8 day old girl this past week. She arrived much earlier than her parents were expecting, but she was perfect! She was a great little sleeper for me but she sure hated to have her hands messed with. She wanted them in little fists in the worst way. I think she was probably happy to see me leave. Thanks again for allowing me to photograph her. I had a nice morning with you all.
